I proudly repped mismatched socks today for World Down Syndrome Awareness Day! Spreading awareness is one way i can help more than just the students in my classroom. Feeling this pride I rocked my socks to the doctor and around jewel osco while i waited for my prescription. I had quite some strange looks, but no one stopped to ask.

Until the nurse walked in the room…

She asked what the deal with my socks were and before i knew it my mouth and heart took off before my brain could catch up. Very similar to how i described my speech about spread the word to end the word. My passion arose and awareness was spread.

  1. My school was closed today for snow but I would have worn mismatched socks! I love your passion and agree it is important for more awareness and respect for people who have Down Syndrome.
