Clutter

You never realize how much stuff you have until you have to move it all. As I was putting my apartment back together this weekend I came to the conclusion that I have so much stuff… So many things that I do not need. When I start to purge I catch myself thinking “but what if I need this in the future” and that line typically keeps me from throwing things out. I am the type of person who is always prepared… you have a stomach ache? Here are some tums. A friend has to crash at my apartment for the night? Here are extra pillows, blankets, and an air mattress. When in reality i do not need all of these things. My goal for this summer is to go through the extra drawers and closets and clear out the things that i do not need. There’s no reason for it.

  1. I completely connect to this post. I struggle to de-clutter, and at the same time want to get rid of so much. It’s a hard balance. Have you read The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo? I found it helpful, but I could probably benefit from reading it again!

  2. So inspiring!! Although I try not to have anything I don’t need, I always seem to find something in my closet that just doesn’t need to be in my home. I hope that my donations have helped someone out!

  3. Lisa, you have to read my blog for today. I wrote about the same thing as you. It feels so good to let go of extra things. I de-cluttered my kitchen and living room today. More to do in other rooms, but one step at a time. S
